Hi JP,

Oddly I'd been using a CNAME on the apex for years (different DNS server) with no problems.

Many thanks though, this solved it, and got me more compliant with the RFC :-).

"No CNAME and other data". The apex of the zone contains SOA and NS
records, and no CNAME is allowed there. Use an A (AAAA) record if you
need the functionality of an address on the zone apex.
